How to solve a cryptogram
Every letter in the encoded text maps to a different letter in the plain-text quote. The cipher reference strip at the top of each puzzle lists all encoded letters used — write your guessed decoded letter below each one as you discover mappings.
Start with short words: a single-letter word is almost always A or I. Two-letter words are usually AT, IN, IS, IT, OF, OR, TO. Pre-revealed letters (shown in the boxes and the cipher strip) give you a foothold. From there, use letter frequency — E, T, A, O, I, N are the most common in English — to narrow down the rest.
