How to Play Slitherlink

Rules

  • Draw a single closed loop along grid edges.

  • Blank cells give no information.

Controls

  • Click/tap an edge to cycle: empty → line → × → empty
  • Right-click to mark × (excluded) directly
  • U or Ctrl+Z Undo
  • Ctrl+Y Redo
  • H Hint

Clue Colours

  • Default — no edges set yet
  • Orange — some edges set, not enough
  • Green — exactly satisfied
  • Red — too many edges

About medium slitherlink

Medium slitherlink steps up to a 7×7 grid with about 55% of cells containing clues. The easy giveaways (abundant 0s and corner 3s) appear less often, so you need to count edges more carefully.

Edge counting becomes the main technique: if a clue cell already has enough lines, its remaining edges are excluded; if it has enough exclusions, the remaining edges must be lines. The adjacent 3-3 and 3-0 patterns (covered in the tips page) start appearing regularly and save real time once you recognise them.

When medium feels routine, move to hard.
