About easy number challenges

Easy puzzles use one operation at a time. You might see a sequence that adds 4 each step, or doubles, or alternates between +3 and −1. The numbers stay small on purpose — the point is to train your eye for which operation is running, not to test whether you can do big arithmetic in your head.

When you get stuck, write the differences between consecutive terms. If those are constant, you have an arithmetic rule. If the differences themselves grow, try ratios instead. That two-step check (differences first, ratios second) handles most easy-level sequences without any guessing.

Also look at odd and even positions separately. Puzzle authors sometimes interleave two simple rules inside one longer line, and the sequence only makes sense once you split it in half. It is a common trick even at this level.

Use Classic mode and take your time. Once you can explain why an answer fits every visible term — not just the last two — move to medium number challenges, where the patterns stop being linear.
