About expert word searches

Expert word searches are 15×15 with 18 words running in all 8 directions. The full direction set means any word can go up, down, left, right, or along any diagonal, including backward diagonals. That is 8 possible reads from every starting cell.

Passive scanning does not work at this scale. You need a system. The most efficient one: sort the word list mentally by unusual letters, search for those words first, then handle the common-letter words using whatever grid space remains unclaimed.

Timed Trial gives you 7 minutes for expert puzzles. That sounds generous, but 15×15 grids with 18 words take real work. If you finish consistently under 5 minutes, the Einstein level awaits with its 20×20 grid and overlapping word placements.
